uHoo is a smart sensor that monitors and analyzes indoor air and its quality and provides you with insights and solutions in real time: thanks to cloud technology, wherever you are.
uHoo is currently the only sensor that measures nine different elementary values of indoor air:
- Temperature (measuring range: -40 to +85°C, resolution: 0.1°C, accuracy: ±0.5°C)
- Relative humidity (measuring range: 0-100%, resolution: 0.1%, accuracy: ±3%)
- Air pressure (measuring range: 300-1100 mBar, resolution: 0.1 mBar, accuracy: ±1 mBar)
- VOC "volatile organic compounds" (measurement range: 0-1200 ppb, resolution: 1 ppb, accuracy: ±10 ppb or ±5%, whichever is higher)
- Fine dust particles (PM2.5) (measuring range: 1-200 µg/m3, resolution: 1 µg/m3, accuracy: ±15 µg/m3 or ±10%, whichever is higher)
- Carbon dioxide (CO2) (Measuring range: 400-10,000 ppm, Resolution: 1 ppm, Accuracy: ±50 ppm or ±3%, whichever is higher)
- Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) (Measuring range: 0-1000 ppb, Resolution: 1 ppb, Accuracy: ±10 ppb or ±5%, whichever is higher)
- Carbon monoxide (CO) (Measuring range: 0-1000 ppm, Resolution: 0.1 ppm, Accuracy: ±2 ppm or ±5%, whichever is higher)
- Ozone (O3) (Measuring range: 0-1000 ppb, Resolution: 1 ppb, Accuracy: ±10 ppb or ±5%, whichever is higher)
VOCs refer to substances in the air that can come from various sources within a room or building: for example formaldehyde from furniture, alcohol from cleaning products or phenols from printers. If the VOC concentration in the room air is increased, this can, among other things, influence or limit the concentration of the room user.
The uHoo app also includes the uHoo Virus Index. This is the world's first and only method for measuring viral load (e.g. COVID-19) based on air quality in real time. The uHoo Virus Index is a patent-pending technology that analyzes the air quality data that uHoo collects and monitors and informs you about the viral load at home or at work. Additionally, uHoo provides you with information about how the air affects your overall health and immune system. Viruses only survive in certain environments. So if you keep your uHoo Virus Index at a healthy level, viruses, including COVID-19, cannot survive and you greatly reduce the risk of infection.
The uHoo Virus Index is based on a 10 point system and is divided into four categories: good, mild, bad and strong. Each category gives you further insight into air quality, viral load risk and how you can improve the air.
uHoo alerts you to unusual events or changes in the air in your rooms in real time. National, international or self-set limit values, which can be set in the app, are used as indicators. For example, if a cleaning product tips over and increases the VOC value, uHoo registers this and the app reports this via push notification.
The graphical evaluations show data trends that enable you to recognize and evaluate trends, insights and effects of behavior and air patterns. For example, ventilation due to morning traffic can lead to an increase in fine dust levels on site, although it also significantly reduces CO2 levels at the same time. From these analyses, you can take proactive measures to potentially change old habits and activities for the better.
uHoo is IFTTT enabled and can communicate with other smart home products in the household. uHoo can also be integrated into the eq-3/Homematic/Mediola Smart Home environment. Further integration is possible with the conrad-connect system.
Additional integrations with Google Home, Amazon Alexa, somfy, Apple Home Kit, nest, control and SmartThings are being prepared or implemented.
After registering, connect uHoo to the power supply and then connect the device to your WiFi on your smartphone. Immediately after setup you can start with the first measurement. No further steps are necessary.
If you select "EU" as the location in the app, a cloud server in the EU will be used. When registering the profile, only the name, email and time zone and later the measurement data are saved.
